“I have had the pleasure of working with Robert during several critical incidents. Our first was the crash of FirstAir 6560 in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, in August 2011. Robert catalogued and managed 1,522 personal effects from 12 fatalities and 3 survivors. His attention to detail and empathy were vital to supporting survivors and families.
Our second was the BP Tiguentourine gas plant evacuation in January 2013, after a four-day terrorist siege that killed 40 staff and 28 militants. Robert managed relations with BP, Statoil and the Algerian government, arranged travel and medical care, and staffed a family center at the Heathrow Sofitel. His coordination of the survivor and fatality repatriation was immensely valuable not only to our own efforts but those of Interpol, British and Algerian intelligence and our clients. He later established a fusion center, then went to Algeria to work with the coroner, preserving and returning remains and effects to the UK. His presence in Algeria and direct work with the Algerian government were essential.
Robert is a professional crisis manager and responder. He is a capable leader during missions that are sensitive, require empathy and where mistakes cannot be tolerated. Robert works effectively in environments with rapidly developing situations, ambiguous information, and evolving situational awareness.”
