GAIL ROWNTREE

Gail gained her experience in supporting international disasters and organisational crises by responding for several client mass fatality organisations to over 43 worldwide incidents, working ‘in-the-field’ to support families and teams who undertake search and recovery and family assistance.

She has worked with government agencies, industry leaders, employees, families and disaster teams to support them before, during and longer term after traumatic events. Gail is an active and full member of several industry leading societies.

Gail qualified with an MSc in Organisational Psychology with Psychiatry from Kings College, London and then went on to qualify as a clinical counsellor specialising in abnormal trauma. To ensure she was current in her skills and learning Gail retook her clinical trauma assessments in 2020 to reinforce her support for clients and colleagues.

Gail has spent many years as an educator and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she is qualified to teach and train adults over 19 years and in 2025 gained a Post Graduate Diploma in digital learning creation. A highlight of Gail’s career was winning two teaching awards which are very special as they were voted for by her students.

In 2024 Gail trained and qualified as an ICAO trainer for the Assistance to Aircraft Accident Victims and Families programme.

The unique skills set that Gail brings to your organisation makes her best placed to support your bespoke training needs, create on line or classroom based training and exercises. She currently supports several clients who need a unique self study or hybrid programme that suits their staff by creating interesting and unique learning experiences. Gail is also currently supporting clients through abnormal trauma.

Gail is a well known key note speaker at conferences, she is extensively published with many articles, chapters and papers and in 2024 published The Fundamentals of Aviation Crisis and Emergency Management.
